Took a Christmas break so my elbow can heal up. Probably hit the gym tomorrow to see how its feeling but have enjoyed the time off.

Yesterday 6 miles carried out on foot which was a reminder that my sneakers are worn out when they gave me blisters. Still worth it as it was a beautiful sunny day and I managed some alone time with nature.

Today...started at the gym and had to leave to go take care of an errand. No workout done today.

Tomorrow...who knows what will happen.

I've been pretty consistent about my fitness and workouts for most of my life. I usually only take breaks for illness and injuries. I did learn a while back that age requires adjustments to my workouts: my needs are different and my body is too. Other than sports (mainly basketball which causes a lot of injuries), I'm mostly a solo workout person. For this year I'm looking to add something new and low impact and perhaps a little bit social. Is yoga a good choice for an old but fit dude like myself?

Try yoga or one of the hybrids. I don't think everyone needs to workout at gyms, if they're self motivated. I've always worked out at home.

Funny you mention that because I just noticed my neighbor, who is the same age as me, taking lessons two days ago. And I do have courts within walking distance.

Iím not giving up my gym workouts. Iím just looking for something fun and not overly injurious to supplement them. My workplace fitness center offers yoga and Pilates at noon on various days

I am trying out a yoga class today. I generally prefer a more strenuous, cardio workout/dance class that gets the heart pumping and the body sweating. But New Year, try a new work out. Who knows .. I.may even enjoy it!

First road race of the year. 30K or 18 miles. The race is older than Boston. This year was the 124th year.

Ran a personal best today by 2 minutes. I was pleased with my result.

Still doing all my exercise classes several times a week but have recently taken up swimming again. I'm quite enjoying it, I just zone out and swim for an hour.

They've just started virtual classes at my gym. Trying my first one tomorrow morning. No instructor shouting at us, just a screen to watch and copy.

Will still stick to my usual classes too but this is good because they do it on the hour every day 7 days a week so I should be able to fit more classes in.

I'm doing alright with the fitness but the motivation is really lacking lately esp. for the cardio. I guess it's time to change the routine again.

I slacked for about, the entire month of March
I was not in a good place but I picked myself up and started my daily yoga and healthy eating. This morning I hit the first weight goal I set for myself back in January. My sister and I are doing it together and it's quite motivating to want to beat her. Sibling rivalry and all
Anyway, go me!

First triathlon race of the season yesterday. Improved my time by 16 minutes over last year. Finished just under 3 hours.

Before each race, you get body markings where they use marker and put you race number on the back of your calf and your age on the other. It just amazes me when I approach at 68 or 72 year old and I pass them late on the run which means they kicked my ass on the bike and it took me this long to catch you. So much respect for these men and women who are out there competing in these races. I hope I can still do that at their age.

Day three back in the saddle at the gym.
Day one... my trainer made me pay for taking so much time off
Day two... I was sore but went back because he taught me to never
miss another day again.
Day three... it’s getting easier again.
