Default Baseball season!

I've made it abundantly clear since joining this community that baseball is where my heart and soul lie.
It's been a long winter already and I'm ready to announce:
44 days, 6 hours, 13 minutes 'til pitchers and catchers report to spring training!
Any preseason favs out there? (other than the Angels of course )

Days of hope and dread. American League West is looking tough this year with Texas finally getting its turn at the top, and the Angels spending big.

I look forward to ball season every year, however being a Cubs fan makes me wish the season was over usually by July.

Hi all. I don't understand baseball apart from it is a expanded version of rounders! I would like to know more. Like who should I follow this season and adopt as my team.

I'm coaching my daughter's 12U summer softball team this year...we had our first practice last night in the batting cages. The temp was in the 20's outside, but if felt like a beautiful 80 degree day in there hearing the crack of the bat. I like what my Sox have done so far with the small moves. Bailey and Melanson will solidify that pen and may allow them to move Bard into the rotation (where I think he might flourish).

^ I wish you'd been my dad.. The only time I saw him hold a baseball was one time when I begged him to pitch to me because I didn't have anyone to practice with.. and he told me I blinked, so he stopped after 3 pitches >_<

When I was 15 my first choice career was going to be to own a t-shirt shop in Hawaii. My back up career was going to be official NASA photographer historian for the space shuttle program.. I'd planned it all out so I could spend late winter and spring time in Florida stalking and photographing spring training. Everything about baseball is amazing. It's the only team sport I 'get'.

Cards will be fine though, Judas can take his 30 million pieces of silver and be the third best 1B in the AL....
Cardinals improved their pitching, their defense, and will probably make the bi move at the deadline, plus, being inthe softest division in baseball means you always got a chance!

Let me just add...
Y'all can cry and bitch and moan about supporting a losing team but I got you beat for I am a proud Minnesota Twins fan! Except of course for the goat cursed Cubs, even the Twins are better than they are.

I'm going to follow this thread but I won't have to much to say. My team, among the poorest in baseball yet with more World Series championships than any team in history excepting only the Yankees and now the Cardinals, is being dismantled and most likely moved to a new city.

Awwww, you don't HATE the Angels. You're just a woman scorned because you couldn't keep Albert. I heard that if you'd of just offered
him a 1% ownership in Anheiser Busch he may have stayed. Oh wait,
didn't AB sell themselves to InBev a Belgian-Brazilian company? Geez, is nothing sacred anymore???

I remember 7/8 years ago when the talk of contraction was rampant in MLB...my cherished Twins were one of the teams mentioned. I felt like part of my life was being removed, my stomach was in knots thinking I wouldn't have my team to follow. I do know if your favorite team moves to another city it's not the same (when the North Stars moved to Texas). It's like kicking the fans in the teeth.

For better or worse, I was raised a Yankees fan because my mom had a crush on Mickey Mantle, my great uncle caught in their minor league system after WW2 and face it...they were the only team to see on TV growing up in Denver. Now I'm a Rockies fan. Coloradoan through and through including sticking by our up and down sports teams. Seems like we just got half the Twin's team in the off season. Thanks Cinny. We will see how they do in Denver. Crossing my fingers and getting my blood pressure medication refilled.
