Does anyone here live an intermittent fasting lifestyle?

I've followed this eating pattern for over 3 years and love it...I'm more of a 16/8 person myself.

I generally don't like intermittent anything.

I do, I'm like MP, about 16/8. I wish we didn't eat so late. Dinner is usually 7-8pm and than I have lunch at 12, sometimes later.

My biggest issue, due to schedules, is how late I eat dinner. If I could fix that (make earlier meal larger, later lighter, like how it used to be in farm life), I think that would help me overall.

Iím still learning whatís MP? I generally stick to about a 5 hour eating window and I stop eating before leaving work so Iím not tempted at home. Weekends are a different story with often a little longer window.

How new are you to the IF?
How is the 5hr. window working for you and are you exercising as well (as this will have a significant difference on sparing lean body mass and hunger patterns)?
Lastly, what is your overall goal?

Over the years for me, from a health standpoint, IF has been the perfect companion with exercising, but everyone is different. I work from home so the amount of time I move, esp. early in the day, is not nearly as much as I would like so I don't feel like my body has "earned" food. Therefore, IF fits nicely.

Iíve been doing it about 3 months now. Iím hoping to lose about 10 more pounds but Iím also enjoying the health benefits of it too. I use the elliptical about 4xs a week as well as light weights. I like the 5 hour window it helps me from mindless eating at home. Do you clean fast? I went all in so thatís how Iím fasting.

I would say my overall goal with IF is to be as healthy as I can be now and in the future. This is a very livable way of living.

Nice work getting 3 months in!

I like the idea of fasting when you are more tempted. I usually tell people to fast if they have a "fast food addiction", as they are in the habit of hitting a drive thru every day after work.

I only have green tea with MCT oil during my fasting hours. On hard weight training days, I may break the fast a bit sooner if my body is telling me to eat. For me, lifting is of no use if I'm not eating to support what I've sweated for.

Doesn't it feel good to not "need" food every morning not always feeling bloated!?

MP was referring to Mr. Polymath, I guess I was being lazy.

I follow a primarily keto lifestyle, but real hardcore is Code Red.
