Never really paid attention to a lot of blues but went to a blues festival last month and most of the music was very good. This band of kids playing blues songs blew everyone else away including award winning adult blues musicians that were there. The crowd loved 'em.

Maybe not "strange" but definitely not "hip" these days: I really enjoy listening to Frank, Dino and the boys.

The Way You Look Tonight
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-iXyM6TCMIUSome day, when I'm awfully low,
When the world is cold,
I will feel a glow just thinking of you...
And the way you look tonight.

Yes you're lovely, with your smile so warm
And your cheeks so soft,
There is nothing for me but to love you,
And the way you look tonight.

With each word your tenderness grows,
Tearing my fear apart...
And that laugh that wrinkles your nose,
It touches my foolish heart.

Lovely ... Never, ever change.
Keep that breathless charm.
Won't you please arrange it ?
'Cause I love you ... Just the way you look tonight.

Mm, Mm, Mm, Mm,
Just the way you look to-night.

The complete works of Anton Webern...most remembered from the sound track to the original "Exorcist" movie with Linda Blair. Great gift to buy for somebody you dislike.
And it is available in one CD collection:

Um, unless you count the Monkees box set, the Japanese pop circa 1996 and the bagpipe music, I really don't listen to anything weird.

Well, I have a small collection of traditional Japanese music …Cant understand a word but I dig it anyhow…from that bunch I would have to say the oddest would be Buddhist monks Chanting Shomyo..

I guess I wouldn't say I listen to any strange music. I like anything except for country.

You're right, Stef! If you don't listen to country, you're fine (cause country is downright strange!!)

Me? I'm a sucker for old TV Game Show Themes. Honest.

I have the complete works of Tom Lehrer. And, while the lyrics are what attract most of his listeners (ok, all three of them), I actually like the music. He's a pretty good singer and a wonderful pianist. That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.

Grew up during the 80's so I like the hair bands. Most people when they meet me see me as a DMB, Wide Spread Panic, or Greatful Dead fan. But, what gets me going ie heavy metal Pantera, Rob Zombie, White Zombie, etc.

Every so often I get the hankering to listen to some early 70's progressive rock: unusual time signatures, 18 minute tracks featuring a number of four minute complex solos. Lyrics so pretentious they make your teeth melt and virtuoso musicianship combine with psychotropic narcotics. You can't beat it.

Anything sang by Frank Zappa. I tossed a FZ cassette tape out of the window in Northern California 25 years ago. and I think it's still there, nobody will pick it up.
Here are some lyrics:
"is that a real panch a real Mexcan poncho or a Sears poncho"
enough said.

Theodore BIKEL sang in 30 odd languages: I wish I could find CDs from him or if impossible his records to record from..

Ok, well, when I am at home, I pretty much listen to Laurence Juber or Phil Keaggy or Micheal Hedges, I doubt very seriously that anyone here has ever heard of these people, I guess that makes me strange.

You know that people who are run of the mill are often boring. Do you prefer to be run of the mill and boring and strange and boring? And if it comes down to erasing boring, do you prefer to be run of the mill or strange in everything?
I prefer to be considered "strange".

Listening to medeival music from Spain. In spite of the work around the house and gardens, am gearing up to go to Italy on business next week. Should be interesting to see what my potential Client say about the current financial crisis.

Beside ABC, can you give me the name of an Australian classical and new age radio station that can be listened live on the web (preferably without commercials?
