LMAO!! I thought the same thing, but didn't say it. Also wondered how much time you must spend in there with ALL that neat stuff to play with......... I mean if you're going to do "EVERYthing" in the kitchen...........

ME ME ME....I love to cook. One nice thing about cooking...it's always something you want to eat and love to make. I especially love cooking big dinners....like a stuffed bird or rump roast (medium rare of course) with mashed potatoes and gravy. For me nothing like the next day eating the leftovers with gravy. I make a big pot of gravy for the birds and roast.

I also, do a lot of grilling (charcoal only....not those outdoor gas ovens).

One thing I want to make and haven't had it in a good while is Sour Beef and Dumplings or another name Sauerbraten. Mmmmmmmmm. a very acquired taste especially if it is sour enough, but so so good.

I do all the cooking, every once in a while he will whip up a pasta dish or something but that is really the extent of his culinary skills. Suits me just fine though, I can cook in the kitchen while he handles the grumpy, hungry and overtired children!

if not medicine id have been a chef. I have never shared my kitchen... except with the children. They used to love to sit on the counter and talk while i cooked, knowing they'd have to be the taste testers. Actually they still sit at the bar while i cook. We have the most delightful conversations!
The kitchen is a gathering place at my house.... kids, friends, family-everyone loves the kitchen!

Like most Italian women, my wife is an incredible cook. Everything made fresh and old style ... never anything from a box or can. My favorite is "Polipetti con sugo alla napoletana", which is octopus in a rich tomato salsa.

Of course that all stopped once our kid arrived. For the last 6 years I've just scavenge for scraps like some old hyena. I feel your pain KMike - lol.

Before we said "I do," he did half (or more, I prefer cereal for dinner a couple times a week, less mess and pounds on my butt) and we swapped cleaning/cooking.

Since the vows, he makes his (awesome) spaghetti sauce about three times a year and occasionally he'll make fried eggs for him and his daughter. So, 90% or more is now one more thing on my list of things I am responsible for.

Apparently, I totally missed the section of the vows that said, "and thee shall become a 1950s housewife and maintain an outside job." Go figure.

She does most of the cooking and food preparation (90%), but I do the BBQing. She insists on doing the 90%. When I need to, I can prepare food very well. When we got married I was the better cook, but I think she has since surpassed me in the culinary arts. We are both very good at the eating part... lol.

Seeing as I am a Domestic Goddess, I usually do 95% of the cooking. However with the recent back injury hubby has taken over almost all of my Goddess duties...thank God he's a fabulous cook
