Default What are you reading?

I love books! All different kinds... fiction, non-fiction, biographies, anything!

I read several books a week, and I am always looking for new authors, or book recommendations.

So........ what are you reading? What is your favorite book?

I am reading The Red Tent, by Anita Diamant. Next, I am reading Madame Bovary... I am trying to read any classics that I missed during school.

I'm half way though Killing Floor by Lee Child - a fantastic read although maybe a little graphic for some

Re-reading "Pillars of the Earth"; first read it 15 years ago, but got the sequel recently as a gift, so going back to Pillars and will read both in succession.

Unless of course..you are referring to something completely different...lol

I've never read any of the books, I have just heard the name Dominic Dune... what is the first book? (I am all picky about reading things in order, LOL)

The first book is called Dune. It is "sci-fi", which I'm not a big fan of; however very little happens in space, on a space ship, or any else which would qualify it as sci-fi.

The first of the series was written in the '60's...and I have found it quite interesting to see the influence it had on other sci-fi and fantasy novels, such as Star Wars.

I am reading twelve ordinary men. About the twelve apostles. I would not recommend it though. I have to read it for small group. LOL A good book I have read recently is Wild at Heart for any of you Christians or just people who want to understand men better. It has a strong Christian base, but can be applied to a lot of other things too. He is a little narrow minded in his thinking though. For instance, just because his idea of adventure is living in the woods does not mean that is every guys idea of adventure, but the premise is the same. Other than that I have just been reading boring stuff about autism.

Have you read the Jenny McCarthy book yet? It has some very interesting theories... and apparently, many doctors are now starting to back her up. And even if you don't support her theory, it is still a very moving story about her son, and her trials to find treatment and answers.

My wife read that one....she says it was really good...I just can not find the time anymore..between keeping up here and staying current with the music...not to mention devoting myself to the arts (porn mostly) its hard to even read "How to go Tinkle" to the little guy

I read parts of it with my wife. Her son was different from ours, but we did learn a lot from it. It helped give us a base for further research.

I read about half of them and can't remember why I stopped. Maybe I'll read them again soon. Going on vacation in a couple of months, so I should get something to bring with me to read.

Speaking of that. Does anybody know of any great books to help get my wife in the mood while we are laying in the hammock in the Mexican Riviera?

Yes!! I know what you mean. I agree that the movie wasn't so good. However, the books are great. I never get tired of reading them.
